The Government of Goa, through the Directorate of Education, has successfully completed an ambitious initiative to upgrade ICT infrastructure and implement Smart Classrooms integrated with STEM learning facilities across schools in mining-affected regions of the state. Executed with the support of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and implemented by the Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited, the project marks a major milestone in strengthening digital education and improving learning equity for students in both North and South Goa.
Covering a total of 20 government schools, the initiative has delivered fully equipped Smart Classrooms featuring modern teaching aids, interactive digital displays, improved ICT infrastructure, and STEM-focused learning tools, including robotics kits and hands-on educational resources. The project was executed in two phases, with supply, installation, commissioning, and school-level readiness now fully completed. All required infrastructure has been deployed, and the classrooms are operational and ready for academic use, ensuring smooth integration into regular teaching and learning practices.
This achievement represents a significant step toward transforming the learning environment in communities historically impacted by mining activity providing students with access to contemporary technology, experiential learning, and skill-building opportunities aligned with modern educational standards. By bridging the digital divide and enhancing classroom capability, the initiative is expected to positively influence student engagement, strengthen STEM readiness, and support long-term academic growth across the region.
