Goa is one of India’s most popular tourist destinations, renowned for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, Portuguese heritage, and adventure activities. With a consistently high influx of tourists and continuous infrastructure development, the state experiences substantial interstate vehicle movement. To ensure smooth mobility, there is a growing need for an integrated and efficient system to monitor, manage, and regulate these vehicles at designated entry and exit points across Goa.
As per the Central Motor Vehicles Act, all vehicles must possess valid certifications such as Vehicle Registration, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, and Third-Party Insurance. However, many interstate vehicles often operate without proper compliance. This not only violates legal requirements but also contributes to road accidents and safety risks for citizens and tourists alike.
Considering the increasing vehicle density and the importance of maintaining road discipline, it is critical for the state to track and enforce compliance for all incoming and outgoing vehicles through a structured framework.
To address these challenges, Goa Police, in collaboration with Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ITG), has appointed a System Integrator (SI) following due procedures. The SI has implemented a Smart Integrated Vehicle Monitoring and Management System enabling real-time monitoring, enhanced safety enforcement, streamlined vehicle validation, and improved governance across the state’s transport ecosystem.
- Phase-I GoVA: Online verification of vehicle documents at border checkpost along with integration of vahan and challan system.
- Phase-II GoVA: Deployment of Dashcams on Government vehicles for monitoring the visible violations by citizens along with integration with Vahan and Challan System and other components like Cess, Weigh Bridge, etc.
